Title: The Prophetic Invocations
Publisher: Starlatch Press 2000
Original Author: Imam al-Haddad
Translator: Dr. Mostafa al-Badawi (Forward by Shaykh Hamza Yusuf)

This book contains two litanies, Wird al-Latif and Ratib al-Shahir. The Wird al-Latif are a collection of supplications that the Prophet (peace be upon him) recommended his community to recite every morning and evening. These are done after Fajr and after Maghrib prayers. Setting aside time at two ends of the day to remember Allah, will assist the reader in being in a state of God-consciousness throughout the day. Wird al-Latif is short and can be done in 10-15 minutes once the reader is familiar with it. The supplications affirm the belief in Allah, asks for good and protection from evil during of the day and night, and asks for well being and safety. Considering the supplications are only derived from Prophetic practice, it would be considered an essential part of one’s day.

Shaykh Hamza Yusuf describes the Wird al-Latif here:
